Discussion Topic: The US Midterm Election – What are the consequences for the USA, Canada, and the World?

Moderator: John Pope

The US is voting in a Midterm Election.  The result will determine the likely direction that the Trump Administration will take for the 2 years leading up to the 2020 Presidential Election.

At the time of this writing (Sunday), the polls indicated that the Democrats would win a majority in the House of Representatives.  If this result has been achieved, it will curtail the Trump Administration’s environmental deregulation legislation, slow down the trade wars, and generally apply the brakes to the White House.

Contrarily, if the Republicans manage to hold on to the House, President Trump can move ahead with his agenda.

Let’s discuss!
